Techniversity

Yokan's technical university. Practical infrastructure courses, taught live and hands-on — with a forum campus for everything between sessions. Enrollment is open and free while the first cohort forms.

How it works

Step 1

Create your account

Sign up on the Techniversity forum. Your forum account is your student ID — enrollment, announcements and course discussion all run through it.

Step 2

Enroll in a course

Post in the course's enrollment thread. You'll be added to the cohort group, which unlocks the course category and session invitations.

Step 3

Join the live sessions

Classes run live on Zoom. Join links are posted to the cohort's forum category before each session; recordings and materials follow in Screencasts.

Self-Hosted Infrastructure — from bare metal to production

Eight hands-on units that take one machine from empty disks to a public, monitored, backed-up service. Each unit ends with a verifiable state on your own hardware.

  1. Storage, filesystems, and what RAID is actually for
  2. Private networking and secure remote access
  3. Containers done right: compose, data layout, log discipline
  4. Publishing services without opening ports
  5. DNS, registrars, and the registry — verification first
  6. Identity and single sign-on
  7. Mail, backups, and restore drills
  8. Monitoring, incident writeups, runbooks

Capstone: ship a service of your own, publicly reachable, with its runbook.
